UPDATE FROM DAD

The crisis due to the biopsy is over! Two days in ICU, twice to the OR and 2 days of hospital rest. None of this stuff is related to my treatment. I would have had problems with any operation because I have been on Plavix and baby asprin for four years. That complicates any procedure requiring blood to coagulate. I start on my standard course of treatment the first week of August which combines Chyemo once a week and Radiation five days for about 5 or 6 weeks. The cure rate is very high for this type of head and tongue cancer. There are no guarantees, of course. But we caught it about as early as possible. I have been in excellent health and have no medical conditions that could cause any complications during treatment. Susan and I are very optomistic now that the other stuff is handled. If we hit any bumps in the road, which is always possible, I or Susie will let you know at once.

NOTE FROM KAREN TO SUSAN

Hey Susan, would you like some help this week-end? We could come down and pack, some of Frances's things, or run errands for you.

SMOOTHIES: From Cynthia

Susan I have some great ideas for smoothies. Best Yogart is Dannon light Vanilla. 1. Mixed with canned pineapple and banana. 2. mixed with canned peaches. 3. Mixed Frosen blueberries for a great antioxidate drink. I can gome down and be with dad this coming Wednesday and Thursday or nexted. Can I bring Celie with me?
